I scouted out some locations and found an AMAZING building painted in some of the best colors I have ever seen and I just knew it would photograph beautifully. I picked out a garment that perfectly complimented the background and was ready for an amazing day of great photography, one where my artistic vision would finally shine through; it would be the best photo shoot of all time!
....and then it rained.
I didn't have the time to take a literal "rain check" (I had to move out of town in 4 days). I still had my model come in. We got her all prettied up and I started making phone calls. Luckily my friend Sarah pulled through and said we could use her apartment.
"Do you want me to clean up?" she asked. Heck no. Sarah's apartment - like most inhabited by underemployed art school graduates - is filled with furniture that is both inexpensive and old. A collection of found items from the side of the road, or pieces purchased on the cheap at a thrift shop. Why bother cleaning a beautiful mess? What a lovely contrast it would be to stick a pretty blonde in a pretty spring dress in front a dingy, dirty (sorry Sarah!) scene.
See the results below:
Sick Sgt. Pepper's Poster |
Under the poster in marker is scribbled "Actually I prefer the Rolling Stones" |
Helen made an appearance |
Please notice to her left the game Dream Phone. If you don't know 'bout it you better ask somebody. |
Thanks Sarah and Peaches (and Helen!) for letting us use their place |
