Whack to Cool

It's that time of year again!  The hustle and bustle of back to school shopping is upon us!  I love this time of year and use it as an excellent excuse to buy new stuff.  Yes I may not have touched a textbook in 5 years, but whatever, I like fancy new notebooks and smelly pens as much as any 13 year old.

Aside from stocking up on awesome "school" supplies and rad "dorm" decor I also like to refresh my wardrobe.

Back to School time means Fall is upon us.  Soon gone are the easy, breezy days of Summer.  Which means I will be welcoming in some fantastic new boots, sweaters, tights, and denim into my closet, and I couldn't be more excited.

I can remember years back not being able to sleep at all on nights before the big first day back.  Who was going to be in my classes?  What will be the new awesome shoe that all the cool girls will be wearing? Should I wear the graphic shirt I got from PacSun or the floral tank from the department store?  Will my Calgon body spray make Nick think I smell pretty or will he just sneeze?

I had about 2 weeks worth of fresh duds, and boy was I ready to make an amazing impression of how AWESOME I got over the summer.

As time has past I realize now that I barely ever have big days like that.  Maybe a first date, or a fancy friend's birthday party- but no excuse to put too much time into my outfit.

According to a random Google search I did (I am so scientific-I have my hot high school physics teacher to thank for that) the average person sees 900 people on a week day.  900!  Now think of how many of them you know?  Like 10, maybe 30 if your doing something with friends?  That is so many new faces to see and be seen by.  So I say, dress every day like it's the first day of school.

You never know who is going to be around the corner........ I am hoping it's Nick from high school.

Now with that said here is my 2011 First Day of School ensemble:

I would start with this pink snakeskin blouse four 3 reasons: 1.It's snakeskin, which is going to be huge this fall (Sexy), 2. It's Powder Pink snakeskin, so it super amazing (Cute) 3. It's a button up which is nice and edgy right now (Cool)
I would tuck the blouse into these super skinny highwaisted jeans for three reasons 1.They are highwaisted (Cool), 2. They are super tight (Sexy) and 3. The are denim (Casual)

I would finish the outfit off with these cute loafers for three reasons 1. Loafers are what's up for Fall (Cool) 2. They are flats (Casual) 3. They remind me of my Grandma (Cute)

So essentially I want my First Day of School Outfit to communicate to the public that
1. I am so obviously sexy
2.  I am so obviously cool

And,  I want it to be said in a cute and casual way. Done!
